Three LSU alumni who lost their lives during World War II have been added to the LSU War Memorial.
LSU is tackling Louisiana’s nursing shortage by expanding its program to Baton Rouge, making education more accessible. With hands-on training and local clinical partnerships, students are prepared to serve communities and strengthen the state’s health care workforce.
Louisiana faces a major teacher shortage, with about 1,000 vacancies statewide, leaving many classrooms without certified teachers. LSU’s Tiger Teacher Corps is helping strengthen the pipeline by preparing confident, qualified educators for the future.
LSU is strengthening medical education by expanding nutrition training for future physicians, addressing Louisiana’s high rates of chronic disease. Through research, collaboration, and patient-centered care, LSU is preparing doctors to treat and prevent disease at its root.
The Louisiana Training Platform is a digital learning hub designed to make complex science education accessible statewide. Developed by LSU researchers, LTP reflects a collaborative effort to expand access to cutting-edge bioinformatics training across Louisiana and beyond.
LSU’s Coastal Roots program gives students hands-on experience growing and planting trees to restore Louisiana’s coast. It reduces flooding, supports wildlife, and teaches responsibility, showing students how small actions create lasting environmental impact.
