For Dylan Rousselle, leadership can look very different depending on where he is standing. In the classroom, the LSU senior is focused on biological engineering, a demanding course of study that requires precision, problem-solving, and plenty of preparation. On the football field, he stands at the front of the LSU Tiger Marching Band, mace in hand, leading hundreds of musicians and carrying on one of LSU's most visible traditions.
A $744,660 U.S. National Science Foundation award will fund an inter-disciplinary project between LSU College of Engineering, LSU College of Human Sciences & Education, and LSU College of Art & Design who will explore how digital twin technology can help undergraduate students develop the holistic thinking skills needed to address increasingly complex challenges in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC).
Louisiana State University Department of Electrical Engineering Associate Chair Mehdi Farasat has received a $445,503 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop advanced control and energy-management technologies that could help make ocean wave energy a more reliable and grid-compatible source of electricity.
