Louisiana State University Department of Electrical Engineering Associate Chair Mehdi Farasat has received a $445,503 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop advanced control and energy-management technologies that could help make ocean wave energy a more reliable and grid-compatible source of electricity.
LSU Division of Computer Science and Engineering Assistant Professors Umar Farooq and Phani Vadrevu have received $771,822 in National Science Foundation (NSF) funding to advance research addressing two critical challenges in computing: ensuring the reliability and security of modern software and protecting online services from increasingly sophisticated malicious bot campaigns.
LSU Civil and Environmental Engineering Assistant Professor Sabarethinam Kameshwar has received a $586,625 Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to advance understanding of how hurricane-induced building damage affects flooding and the forces acting on remaining coastal structures in urban shorelines.
