Wetland Biogeochemistry Analytical Services 

Begun in 2005, Wetland Biogeochemistry Analytical Services (WBAS) is a nonprofit laboratory and university service center at Louisiana State University’s College of the Coast & Environment. We provide analytical services to university researchers, government agencies, and industry, with fees based on the cost of providing those services.

WBAS combines instrumental analysis and classical wet chemistry to study water, soil, sediment, plant tissue, and other environmental samples. Our capabilities include nutrient analysis, elemental analysis, organic carbon measurement, trace metals, dissolved gases, and stable isotopes.

Our mission is to provide reliable chemical analyses and data of known quality. We use established methods, calibration standards, blanks, and quality control samples to support results our clients can use with confidence.
